I purchased a home in the Vista del Oro area of San Pedro almost (2) years ago. My parents have lived in San Pedro for almost (20) years. I love this town. I also recently started my own law practice here in San Pedro and I am acting President of the Golden State Pops Orchestra that performs out of the Warner Grand Theater. It would be an honor to represent my community, foster communication, protect its beauty and assist in positive growth.

I am a native Californian and recent San Pedro resident. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and have lived all over southern California.  My interpretation of neighborhoods and their vibes stretch vast and wide.  As a newly permanent resident, I have the chance to offer you fresh ideas and new perspectives.  My experience in serving the public began at a young age.  I have passionate interests in working with people in a non-profit arena and believe in social change whenever necessary.  San Pedro is full of warm and friendly neighbors.  The environment is fresh and our natural surroundings are some of mother nature’s finest.  The amount of economic growth and possibility is exponential and unyielding here.  We all need a voice for our communities, an advocate to address needs and sustainability.  I appreciate the opportunity to prove myself to be that person should you decide to give me your vote.

I have lived in San Pedro all of my life and worked on the waterfront for more than 30 years on Tugboats and Longshore. I have been involved in unions for 30 plus years and attended a union school in Maryland, also elected union delegate. I have a history of being involved in bettering the wellbeing of others. At the age of 24 I built and owned my own business in San Pedro, from 1987 to present, over 31 years. My goal of being on NWSPNC is to make sure the neighborhood is informed and support everything that pertains to them and their own quality of life. I will work hard for the neighborhood and all of San Pedro.

If elected this would be my third term serving on Northwests’ Board. I served one term in the early 2000s and became a Board member again in 2016. During both terms I have served on the Port Committee. I was actively involved in the discussions with the Port about the funding of public access waterfront projects that resulted in the Port’s commitment to spend 10 percent of its net operating income over 10 years. I am currently involved in discussions about potential future waterfront projects with the Port, other Neighborhood Councils and Harbor area Chambers of Commerce. I am also involved in efforts to have the Port include in its Risk Management Plan an analysis of the risk of transporting hazardous Liquid Petroleum Gas on its rail lines. Improving collaboration with other San Pedro Neighborhood Councils in these efforts is an important priority for me.
