August 11, 2008 - Motion Re: Support of LA Emergency Mgmt Dept. Fair

A motion was suggested to fund COPSS working in partnership with the LA Emergency Management Department in support of the September 20, 2008 Fair at Ken Malloy Harbor Regional park and to support the continued outreach efforts conducted by COPSS in the community throughout the year.  Diana Nave commented that there was a recommendation from Outreach Committee to provide $1,000 to support to the City Fair.  Diana Nave made a motion to provide $1,000 in support, seconded by David Arvonio.    John Mavar proposed an amendment that we increase the amount to $5,000 which was seconded by Craig Goldfarb.  After discussion, the amendment was withdrawn, and the original motion for $1,000 support was voted on.  1 no vote, 8yes votes.  Original Motion passed.
