Hazardous Household Waste Collection FacilityAfter considerable discussion, the Northwest San Pedro Neighborhood Council voted at its meeting on August 12, 2002, to support the location of the collection facility for hazardous household wastes on the Department of Sanitation site on North Gaffey. The opening of a permanent collection facility will be a benefit to our community. It is our understanding that the Department will collect any materials that have been dropped off outside of the gate at least once a day and dispose of them properly. The Department also agreed to beautify the site on the Gaffey Street side. The Neighborhood Council would like an opportunity to comment on the beautification plans. Finally, we look forward to meeting periodically with the Department as the site becomes operational so that any issues that might arise can be addressed in a timely manner. ------------------------------------------ Return to RESOLUTIONS.
